Who we are

Agape is a UK registered charity registered in 2017 operating internationally, in particular in DRC and the Republic of Congo. We are committed to supporting blind and partially sighted people, so that they may lead fully independent and active lives.

To provide mobility and orientation training

We want to teach young children and adults how to use symbol canes and long canes to be able to increase their independence and aid their daily living.

We believe no blind or visually impaired person should be without a symbol cane that enables them to be able to move around safely.

To provide braille, vocal reading machines and learning equipment for schools

We want to provide braille tablets for school children so that they may learn how to read and write in braille, and use vocal reading machines as well as audible and tactile labelling equipment and equipment for sporting activities.

To increase access to education and work though tailored software and equipment

We want to sponsor children as they journey through higher education, paying for their fees and travel costs and equipment that they need. This includes laptops with magnification and audible software. We also want to provide this tailored software for those entering work.

Who we’re currently helping

We’re currently focussing our efforts on aiding the Institute National Pour Les Aveugles and Viens et Voir by supporting their running costs, providing them with food and drink, equipment, and more. See what we’ve achieved so far, and how we plan to help them in the future.
